Engr. Robindronath Mahato, MCIPS, PMP is a passionate civil servant and visionary engineer whose career reflects a lifelong dedication to transforming technical and vocational education in Bangladesh. Born in Rajshahi, Robindronath’s academic journey began with a deep curiosity for electronics and innovation. This led him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), from where he graduated in 2008. Eager to apply his technical knowledge, he launched his career in Dhaka as an Embedded Systems Designer at MicroAd, where he developed control boards and automation systems for various industries.

Robindronath's technical aptitude soon opened doors in the telecommunications sector. He served as an RF Engineer at Warid Telecom and Banglalink, contributing to the design and optimization of mobile networks across the country. His pursuit of excellence later took him to Huawei Technologies in Hong Kong, where he joined the Research and Development Unit to work on advanced antenna systems—further sharpening his skills in communication engineering on a global platform.

On returning to Bangladesh, he transitioned into academia and public sector education, determined to shape the next generation of engineers. From 2010 to 2012, he served as Head of Electronics Technology at the Bangladesh Institute of Information Technology (BIIT), where he also managed a donor-funded project as a Project Manager. His experience in both teaching and project execution naturally led him to a more permanent role in public service.

In 2012, Robindronath joined the Rajshahi Mohila Polytechnic Institute as an Instructor in Electro-Medical Technology, where he not only taught students how to design and operate medical instruments but also handled procurement activities for World Bank-supported initiatives. His role in education continued to grow, and in 2016, he formally entered the civil service as a Government Officer under the Ministry of Education. He was posted to the Skills and Training Enhancement Project (STEP) under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE).

At STEP, he discovered his flair for communication and mobilization. Over the years, he produced a wide array of materials—flyers, posters, documentaries, TV fillers, and commercials—to promote technical education across Bangladesh. He played a central role in organizing 53 regional dissemination seminars that brought TVET into the spotlight at the grassroots level. Since 2015, he has also been the Coordinator and Presenter of “Tathya Batayan,” an ICT-based monthly television program on Bangladesh Television (BTV) that continues to highlight the potential of technical education and digital innovation.

In 2019, his project management and procurement skills led him to the role of Equipment Officer for a major government initiative to establish four new engineering colleges. Here, he oversaw the procurement of equipment and lab materials—laying the groundwork for thousands of future students.

Between 2020 and 2022, he served twice as the Head of the Department of Electronics Technology—first at Tangail Polytechnic Institute, and later at Rajshahi Mohila Polytechnic Institute, where he led curriculum reform, introduced online teaching platforms like Google Classroom, Moodle, and TeachMint, and managed lab modernization and procurement activities during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In late 2022, Robindronath’s journey came full circle when he was appointed as Programmer in the World Bank-funded ASSET Project. Here, he led the design and rollout of AProMIS—a centralized digital platform for project management—and pioneered a new Enterprise-Based Training (EBT) model that placed industry at the heart of vocational training. These innovations aimed to bridge the gap between education and employment in Bangladesh.

He returned briefly to Tangail Polytechnic in 2024, resuming his role as Head of the Department before being appointed in 2025 as the Attached Officer (Communication and Mobilization) to the ASSET Project, under the Technical and Madrasah Education Division. In this national-level role, he now leads awareness and advocacy campaigns for TVET across Bangladesh, organizing seminars, roundtables, conferences, and media productions to strengthen industry-institute linkages and reshape public perception of technical education.

Robindronath’s professional growth is backed by continuous learning. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he completed his M.Sc. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Daffodil International University. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS, UK)—credentials that complement his operational and strategic leadership. His international training includes programs in Digital Electronics and Embedded Systems from Nanyang Polytechnic (Singapore), Advanced Robotics from IIT Delhi (India), and TVET System Development from Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College (China).

Engr. Robindronath Mahato, MCIPS, PMP, also works as a freelancer, offering procurement training to individuals and MCIPS students globally. He provides professional procurement consultancy services, and delivers pedagogy training in Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBT&A) at Levels 4, 5, and 6

Throughout his career, Engr. Mahato has demonstrated a remarkable ability to connect policy with practice, vision with implementation, and technology with people. His contributions to digital systems, institutional capacity-building, national events like Skills Competitions and International Conferences, and web-based platforms have cemented his role as a key figure in Bangladesh’s TVET landscape.

Today, he continues to serve with purpose and passion—working to build a skilled, self-reliant, and globally competent workforce that can lead Bangladesh into the future.

প্রকৌশলী রবীন্দ্রনাথ মাহাত একজন নিবেদিতপ্রাণ সরকারি কর্মকর্তা ও দূরদৃষ্টিসম্পন্ন প্রকৌশলী, যিনি বাংলাদেশে কারিগরি ও বৃত্তিমূলক শিক্ষার রূপান্তরে নিজের পুরো কর্মজীবন উৎসর্গ করেছেন। রাজশাহীতে জন্মগ্রহণকারী রবীন্দ্রনাথের শিক্ষাজীবন শুরু হয়েছিল ইলেকট্রনিক্স ও উদ্ভাবনের প্রতি গভীর কৌতূহল থেকে। তিনি খুলনা প্রকৌশল ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় (KUET) থেকে ইলেকট্রনিকস ও যোগাযোগ প্রকৌশলে স্নাতক ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন (২০০৮)। এরপর ঢাকা থেকে তিনি তাঁর পেশাগত জীবন শুরু করেন MicroAd-এ একটি এমবেডেড সিস্টেম ডিজাইনার হিসেবে, যেখানে তিনি বিভিন্ন শিল্পখাতে ব্যবহারের জন্য নিয়ন্ত্রণ বোর্ড ও স্বয়ংক্রিয়করণ ব্যবস্থা তৈরি করেন।

তাঁর প্রযুক্তিগত দক্ষতা টেলিযোগাযোগ খাতে সুযোগের দুয়ার খুলে দেয়। তিনি ওয়ারিদ টেলিকম ও বাংলালিংক-এ RF ইঞ্জিনিয়ার হিসেবে কাজ করেন এবং দেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে মোবাইল নেটওয়ার্কের নকশা ও অপ্টিমাইজেশনে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করেন। পরবর্তীতে তিনি হুয়াওয়ে টেকনোলজিস, হংকং-এর গবেষণা ও উন্নয়ন বিভাগে যুক্ত হয়ে উন্নত অ্যান্টেনা সিস্টেম নিয়ে কাজ করেন, যা তাঁর যোগাযোগ প্রকৌশল দক্ষতাকে আন্তর্জাতিক পরিসরে আরও সমৃদ্ধ করে।

বাংলাদেশে ফিরে এসে তিনি শিক্ষা ও জনসেবামূলক খাতে আত্মনিয়োগ করেন, ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের প্রকৌশলীদের গড়ে তোলার লক্ষ্যে। ২০১০ থেকে ২০১২ সাল পর্যন্ত তিনি বাংলাদেশ ইনস্টিটিউট অব ইনফরমেশন টেকনোলজিতে (BIIT) ইলেকট্রনিক্স টেকনোলজি বিভাগের প্রধান হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন এবং একইসাথে একটি দাতা সংস্থার প্রকল্পের প্রকল্প ব্যবস্থাপক হিসেবে কাজ করেন।

২০১২ সালে তিনি রাজশাহী মহিলা পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউটে ইলেক্ট্রো-মেডিকেল প্রযুক্তিতে ইন্সট্রাক্টর হিসেবে যোগদান করেন। সেখানে তিনি শিক্ষার্থীদের চিকিৎসা যন্ত্রের ডিজাইন ও পরিচালনা শেখানোর পাশাপাশি বিশ্বব্যাংক অর্থায়িত প্রকল্পের ক্রয় সংক্রান্ত কাজও পরিচালনা করেন। পরবর্তীতে ২০১৬ সালে তিনি শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের অধীনে সরকারি কর্মকর্তা হিসেবে নিয়োগ পান এবং কারিগরি শিক্ষা অধিদপ্তরের স্কিলস অ্যান্ড ট্রেনিং এনহান্সমেন্ট প্রকল্পে (STEP) যুক্ত হন।

STEP প্রকল্পে কাজ করতে গিয়েই তিনি যোগাযোগ ও উদ্বুদ্ধকরণে নিজের অসাধারণ দক্ষতা প্রকাশ করেন। তিনি কারিগরি শিক্ষাকে জনপ্রিয় করতে লিফলেট, পোস্টার, ডকুমেন্টারি, টিভি ফিলার ও বিজ্ঞাপনসহ নানা ধরনের প্রচার সামগ্রী তৈরি করেন এবং ৫৩টি আঞ্চলিক প্রচার সেমিনার আয়োজনের মাধ্যমে দেশের প্রান্তিক অঞ্চলে TVET বিষয়ে সচেতনতা সৃষ্টি করেন। ২০১৫ সাল থেকে তিনি বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশনের "তথ্য বাতায়ন" নামক মাসিক আইসিটি ভিত্তিক অনুষ্ঠানের সমন্বয়ক ও উপস্থাপক হিসেবে কাজ করছেন।

২০১৯ সালে তিনি চারটি নতুন প্রকৌশল কলেজ স্থাপন সংক্রান্ত একটি সরকারি প্রকল্পে ইকুইপমেন্ট অফিসার হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন, যেখানে তিনি ল্যাব উপকরণ ও সরঞ্জাম ক্রয়ের মাধ্যমে ভবিষ্যৎ শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য ভিত্তি স্থাপন করেন।

২০২০ থেকে ২০২২ সালের মধ্যে তিনি দুইবার ইলেকট্রনিক্স টেকনোলজি বিভাগের প্রধান হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন—প্রথমে টাঙ্গাইল পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউটে, পরে রাজশাহী মহিলা পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউটে। এই সময়ে তিনি পাঠ্যক্রম সংস্কার, গুগল ক্লাসরুম, Moodle ও Teachmint-এর মতো অনলাইন শিক্ষণ প্ল্যাটফর্ম চালু, এবং কোভিড-১৯ মহামারির সময় ল্যাব আধুনিকায়ন ও ক্রয় কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করেন।

২০২২ সালের শেষদিকে তিনি বিশ্বব্যাংক-অর্থায়িত ASSET প্রকল্পে প্রোগ্রামার হিসেবে নিযুক্ত হন। এখানে তিনি AProMIS নামক একটি কেন্দ্রীভূত ডিজিটাল প্রকল্প ব্যবস্থাপনা প্ল্যাটফর্মের নকশা ও বাস্তবায়ন করেন এবং ইন্ডাস্ট্রি-কেন্দ্রিক একটি নতুন Enterprise-Based Training (EBT) মডেল চালু করেন, যা শিক্ষার সাথে শিল্পের সংযোগকে সুদৃঢ় করে।

২০২৪ সালে তিনি আবার টাঙ্গাইল পলিটেকনিকে ফিরে আসেন এবং বিভাগের প্রধান হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। ২০২৫ সালে তাঁকে ASSET প্রকল্পের সংযুক্ত কর্মকর্তা (যোগাযোগ ও উদ্বুদ্ধকরণ) হিসেবে কারিগরি ও মাদ্রাসা শিক্ষা বিভাগের অধীনে নিয়োগ দেওয়া হয়। জাতীয় পর্যায়ে তিনি এখন TVET সংক্রান্ত সচেতনতা ও প্রচার কার্যক্রমের নেতৃত্ব দিচ্ছেন—সেমিনার, গোলটেবিল আলোচনা, সম্মেলন ও মিডিয়া প্রযোজনার মাধ্যমে শিল্প-প্রতিষ্ঠান সংযোগ শক্তিশালী করার পাশাপাশি কারিগরি শিক্ষার ইতিবাচক ভাবমূর্তি গড়ে তুলছেন।

পেশাগত উৎকর্ষের পথে রবীন্দ্রনাথ মাহাতের এই অগ্রযাত্রা আরও সমৃদ্ধ হয়েছে তাঁর ধারাবাহিক শিক্ষার মাধ্যমে। কোভিড-১৯ মহামারির সময় তিনি ড্যাফোডিল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটি থেকে ইলেকট্রনিক্স ও টেলিকমিউনিকেশন ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং-এ স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। তিনি PMP (Project Management Professional) সার্টিফায়েড এবং যুক্তরাজ্যভিত্তিক Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS)-এর সদস্য। তাঁর আন্তর্জাতিক প্রশিক্ষণগুলোর মধ্যে রয়েছে:

• ডিজিটাল ইলেকট্রনিক্স ও এমবেডেড সিস্টেম (ন্যানইয়াং পলিটেকনিক, সিঙ্গাপুর)

• উন্নত রোবোটিক্স (IIT দিল্লি, ভারত)

প্রকৌশলী মাহাত ফ্রিল্যান্সার হিসেবেও কাজ করে থাকেন। তিনি গ্লোবাল পর্যায়ে ক্রয়সংক্রান্ত প্রশিক্ষণ, বিশেষ করে MCIPS শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য কোর্স পরিচালনা করেন। এছাড়াও তিনি Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBT&A) লেভেল ৪, ৫ ও ৬-এ প্যাডাগজিক্যাল ট্রেনিং প্রদান করে থাকেন।

তাঁর কর্মজীবনের প্রতিটি পদক্ষেপে দেখা যায় নীতি ও প্রয়োগের সমন্বয়, ভবিষ্যৎ পরিকল্পনা ও বাস্তবায়নের মিলন এবং প্রযুক্তি ও মানুষের মাঝে সেতুবন্ধন। ডিজিটাল সিস্টেম উন্নয়ন, প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি, জাতীয় স্কিলস প্রতিযোগিতা ও আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন আয়োজন, এবং ওয়েবভিত্তিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম তৈরির মাধ্যমে তিনি বাংলাদেশের TVET অঙ্গনে এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রেখে চলেছেন।

আজও তিনি একই লক্ষ্য ও নিষ্ঠা নিয়ে কাজ করে চলেছেন—একটি দক্ষ, আত্মনির্ভরশীল ও বৈশ্বিকভাবে প্রতিযোগিতাযোগ্য কর্মশক্তি গড়ে তোলার মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশের উন্নয়ন অভিযাত্রায় অবদান রাখতে।
